A short description of the tour:

The tour starts and ends in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Here are two big international airports: Otopeni and Baneasa and here is also the biggest railway station in the country: “Gara de Nord”. After meeting the guide you begin the visit of the city: you will see the Palace of Parliament (the Ceausescu Palace)- the second largest building in the world.

Next we drive to Transylvania. The first city to visit is Brasov - a very beautiful medieval citadel in the Carpathians. After visiting the Black Church, the largest Gothic construction between Istanbul and Vienna, we drive to DRACULA'S CASTLE in Bran.

Having as start point Brasov, we will visit the most important church-castles in Transylvania, which are UNESCO Heritage. We will be in the pearl of Transylvania, Sighisoara,  on the 4th day. Here we have dinner in Dracula's Birth House.

Next we visit Sibiu -  the European Capital of Culture 2007 and the simple villages around this city. Then we  cross again the Carpathians in order to visit the Monastery in Curtea de Arges (an unique monument showing influences of Christian and Islamic architecture).

We return to Bucharest. Here you will have spare time in “the Little Paris”. The guide will drive you to the airport for your flight back.

Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest
Arriving by plane to Bucharest (OTP). The guide will await you at the Otopeni Airport in Bucharest holding a name plate with your name on it. Transfer to the hotel in Bucharest.
Accommodation in city center of Bucharest.

Day 2: Bucharest city tour - Sinaia - Brasov (220 km)
After breakfast we visit the city with its main attraction points: The Press House, the Kisselef Boulevard, The Arch of Triumph, the Victoriei Square, the Victoriei Street, the Revolution Square, the Cotroceni Palace and  other old streets like the Lipscani Street. After visiting the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world (after the Pentagon) we drive north towards Brasov. On our way we are going to see the famous oil fields near Ploiesti. Next we visit the summer residence of the Romanian royal family. The kings were all of German Prussian origin from the Hohenzoller von Singmaringen family. In the afternoon we arrive in Brasov, in Transylvania.
Accommodation for 2 nights in city center of Brasov.

Day 3: Brasov, the city from the Middle Ages and Citadels of the Barsa Land (60 km)
City tour in Brasov (3 hours walking time), where we see the most important cultural objectives of the medieval city: the town hall square, the Black Church (we visit it inside too), the Weaver Bastion, the White and Black Tower, etc.
In the afternoon we will drive to Bran, where we are going to see the Dracula Castle.
Then we will drive back to Brasov.

Day 4: Brasov - Prejmer - Viscri - Sighisoara (150 km)
First we visit, in Prejmer, the best preserved peasant's citadel from the Barsa Land. After a two hours drive we arrive to a small village – Viscri, where we will find out more about the  „Mihai Eminesu Trust" and it's restauration project. Viscri is an abandoned village which now comes back to life. In this village Prince Charles of U.K. has a house. In the afternoon we drive to Sighisoara, a UNESCO city. We visit the city and see the main touristic objectives of the so called "Rothenburg ob der Taube from Transylvania": the Clock Tower, the Covered Staircase, Dracula's birth house etc. Overnight in Sighisoara.
 
Day 5: UNESCO in Transylvania: Sighisoara - Biertan - Medias - Valea Viilor - Sibiu (160 km)
First we visit the fortified church in Biertan, which used o be the Bishops' residence for more than 300 years. We will visit the old Pharmacy. Afterwards. we go to Medias, to visit the Church Castle. On our way we pass through Richis and Mosna. In the afternoon we drive to the 3rd UNESCO fortified Church in Valea Viilor/ Wurmloch. After visiting the church we drive to Sibiu. Accommodation for 2 nights in Sibiu.

Day 6: Sibiu - European Cultural Capital 2007 & Surroundings (60 km)
After breakfast we make a city tour in the European Cultural Capital 2007. We visit, among others the Evangelical Church, the Council Tower, The large and the Small Square, the Liars' Bridge, the Peasants' Market etc. Lunch break and free time in Sibiu. In the afternoon we drive to Cristian, where we see the Fortified Church, and also to Sibiel to see the unique  Icons Museum (naive reverse glass painting). Here we have dinner at a romanian peasants family. After dinner we drive back to Sibiu.

Day 7: Sibiu - Curtea de Arges - Pitesti - Bucuresti (310 km)
Today we head along the Olt River towards South. First we go to the Monastery in Curtea de Arges, a mix between Islamic and Orthodox architecture. Next we drive through Pitesti until we reach Bucharest. Free time late in the afternoon in Bucharest / "the little Paris" of the East. Accommodation in Bucharest.

Day 8: Flight back home (20 km)
Breakfast. According to your flight schedule you will be transferred to the Airport Otopeni.
